According to the Public Television News Network on June 16, 2024 at 7:36 AM, Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council stated that personal information provided when applying for residence permits in China could be arbitrarily used by relevant Chinese authorities, posing privacy risks and increased surveillance by the Chinese Communist Party. The council cautions the public to carefully consider these risks to avoid unpredictable infringements on their rights. Additionally, the Mainland Affairs Council announced the resumption of mainland tourist groups visiting Taiwan, hoping for reciprocity from China, amid reports of China requiring Taiwanese and Hong Kong artists to ensure 'political correctness' for the next 10 years.
