At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, the Deputy Director of the China National Space Administration, Bian Zhi gang, announced that scientists from all over the world are welcome to apply to research the moon rock samples brought back by the Chang'e-6 lunar probe. However, cooperation is restricted, particularly with the United States, due to the Wolf Amendment that prohibits direct bilateral cooperation between NASA and China. Despite this limitation, China can collaborate with scientists from other countries, such as the European Space Agency, France, Italy, and Pakistan. The returned samples from the Chang'e-6 mission include volcanic rocks dating back 2.5 million years, with the aim of addressing questions about the geographic differences on the moon's two sides.
