A medical mishap in China led to a needle breaking off in a blood vessel during an infant's surgery at Xingyuan Hospital, causing the tube to float in the blood for 5 years. When the tube was finally located and needed to be surgically removed, the hospital initially refused to assist, but after media attention, they relented. The incident began in December 2018 in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, when a 5-month-old infant underwent a procedure where the needle mishap occurred. The father of the child turned to media for help after the hospital refused to cover the surgery costs, leading to successful removal of the tube. Compensation will be settled through legal means.
