A 60-year-old man surnamed Ruan from China recently traveled 260 kilometers by small boat from Fujian Province's Ningde Port to successfully land in Tamsui Ferry Pier, sparking concerns of a new form of provocation by experts. The man reportedly stated that he wanted to defect to the Republic of China and claimed he was persecuted by the Chinese government for expressing anti-government views on WeChat.
