According to 'Global Times' on June 19, Chinese automakers and industry associations expressed strong dissatisfaction with the EU's preliminary decision to impose anti-subsidy duties on Chinese electric cars, urging the government to take decisive countermeasures, including raising temporary tariffs on large displacement gasoline cars. This move comes in response to the EU imposing up to 38.1% anti-subsidy duties on imported Chinese electric cars, while the US raised tariffs on Chinese electric cars from 25% to 100% in May. Concerns over China's dominance in the battery supply chain, its high production of electric cars, and its expanding overseas automotive industry are contributing to the escalating trade tensions with the EU and the US.
