On June 17, 2024, the Ministry of National Defense released the latest information regarding the activities of PLA military aircraft and vessels around Taiwan. In the span of 24 hours from 6:00 on June 17 to 6:00 on June 18, a total of 20 PLA aircraft were detected, with 12 crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entering the southeast and southwest airspace of Taiwan, while 7 PLA vessels were active in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait. The military routes revealed by the dynamic map show a state of being 'sandwiched' by the Chinese military on three sides. The Ministry of National Defense stated that the ROC military is closely monitoring and responding to PLA activities with surveillance aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems.
