Chinese Premier Li Keqiang visited Australia and toured the Adelaide Zoo, where the pandas Wang Wang and Funi are hosted. During his visit, Li announced that China will provide Australia with two new pandas and is expected to lift the ban on Australian lobster imports. However, experts note that while trade and high-level exchanges may resume, Australia is not interested in deepening technological cooperation with China. The visit marks the first by a Chinese premier to Australia since 2017 and aims to repair bilateral relations, though challenges remain in aligning foreign policy priorities. Li is also scheduled to meet with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and visit a lithium processing plant in Western Australia as part of efforts to enhance economic ties between the two countries.
