Following the Taiwan Affairs Office's escalated travel advisory for Fujian tour groups, a group arrived in Matsu yesterday. The Mainland Affairs Council welcomed Mainland visitors to engage in exchange activities through Matsu tour groups and encouraged them to promptly apply for travel to Matsu and Kinmen, to be reviewed accordingly. With China's new 'National Security Enforcement Law' coming into effect today, emphasizing anti-spy efforts and expanding electronic device inspections, alongside the release of the '22 anti-secession laws' wherein 'splitting the country' could be punishable by death, the tourism advisory pertaining to Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau was raised from level two (yellow) to level three (orange) recently, deterring non-essential travels.
