Cisco Systems has introduced a new networking chip, the P200, to connect AI data centers over vast distances, partnering with Microsoft and Alibaba. This chip, which integrates the functionality of 92 chips into one and significantly reduces power consumption, aims to help data centers, which are often located far apart due to power needs, work together effectively as a single system for AI training. The P200 seeks to address challenges in data synchronization across these geographically dispersed centers.
