The debate over parliamentary reform in Taiwan continues even after the law is passed, with the Kuomintang (KMT) and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) frequently holding lectures to promote their respective ideologies. Interestingly, both parties held events in Taoyuan today, just six minutes apart by car. Although the main theme was parliamentary reform, both parties focused heavily on recall cases. Supporters chanted slogans in support of democracy and against abuse of power, with the DPP emphasizing deepening democracy while the KMT accused the DPP of using recalls as a political tool. The clash over recalls has intensified into a political battle, with both sides unwilling to back down.
