Former Goldman Sachs executive Beth Hammack has been named as the next president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, succeeding Loretta Mester who is retiring. Hammack, 52, brings a wealth of experience from her time at Goldman Sachs, where she held various senior roles. Her appointment comes at a critical time for the Fed as it navigates high interest rates to combat inflation while avoiding an economic slowdown. Hammack will start her new role on August 21, following Mester's retirement on June 30.
