A man named Lin in Taichung was caught by his girlfriend after agreeing to a trade proposed by co-worker Xiao Mei (alias) to exchange 'sexual services' for a safety helmet. Despite Xiao Mei's subsequent criminal complaint, contradictions in the evidence could only prove that the two engaged in sexual activity, not confirm any forced sexual assault. As a result, Lin was acquitted in both the first and second trials. Lin and co-worker Xiao Mei engaged in intimate activity at Lin's rental place on June 4, 2022; Lin's girlfriend arrived unexpectedly, causing Xiao Mei to flee in embarrassment. Xiao Mei accused Lin of stripping off his pants and forcing himself on her, but Lin denied the accusations. The testimonies of Lin and his girlfriend contradicted each other, casting doubt on the validity of the allegations.
