Reported 11 months ago
A college student surnamed Wu in New Taipei City met a junior high school girl named Minor A through a social networking app, and they engaged in a sexual encounter in an accessible toilet at a sports field. After Minor A's mother learned of the incident, she reported it, leading to Wu's confession during questioning. Wu reached a settlement with Minor A's family, agreeing to compensate them with 300,000 and 100,000 respectively. Due to Wu's lack of criminal record, young age, and immature judgment at the time of the incident, he was sentenced by the New Taipei District Court to 1 year and 8 months of probation for engaging in sexual activity with the girl, with the possibility of appeal.
