Complaints about Library and Public Spaces Being Warm as Air Conditioners Turned Off Due to Temperature Control Policy

Reported 12 months ago

With the implementation of a temperature control policy for energy conservation, many netizens in Taiwan are complaining that public spaces such as libraries, train stations, and subways are not adequately cooled by air conditioners. Consequently, people are opting to stay home and use their own air conditioners, resulting in increased electricity consumption. The debate sparked discussions online, with some attributing the issue to the temperature control policy, while others observed that shopping malls, supermarkets, movie theaters, and office buildings generally maintain cooler temperatures ranging from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.
