Zhou Yuxiu, the secretary-general of the People's Party, confirmed recent internal discord within the party regarding the 'two-year clause' where At-Large legislators are supposed to resign after two years and be replaced by other members from the At-Large list. Despite suggestions within the party, Zhou stated that the current direction has not changed, and efforts are being made to ensure a smooth transition between the first eight and second eight At-Large legislators. Zhou emphasized that the party is working hard to meet external expectations amidst concerns of potential weakening of legislative capabilities if all eight current legislators were replaced by new members in 2026.
