An activist group initiated a campaign to recall Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang with a 'demolition campaign' and claimed that the second-stage petition threshold has been met. Former legislator, Shen Fuxiong, defended Xie, stating that all the accusations against him combined are not sufficient to warrant impeachment. Shen criticized the Green Camp for pushing the recall motion beyond the threshold, suggesting that if he were Xie, he would fight back vigorously, questioning the need to endure such treatment. Nationalist Party Chairman, Chu Li-lun, issued a 'Strengthen Xie Campaign Order', personally joining the effort to support Xie, while the party's central committee established a special task force to collaborate with Xie's municipal team in launching the 'Strengthen Xie Campaign'.
