Microsoft Corp. has allocated more than $60 billion towards neocloud data center providers in a bid to enhance its AI computing capacity. A significant portion, around $23 billion, is directed to British startup Nscale, which will supply Microsoft with 200,000 Nvidia GB300 chips across several locations. As AI demand surges, Microsoft is rapidly partnering with neocloud firms, doubling its investments in the sector since early October, while also announcing $10 billion in new commitments this week. This strategy reflects the industry-wide capacity challenges due to increasing AI workloads.
