Controversy over Establishment of Height Restriction in Jiji, Nantou! Police Reveal Truth: To Prevent Pedestrian Hell

Reported about 1 year ago

On June 30, 2024, in Jiji, Nantou, a 2.4-meter height restriction was set up on Linwei Road to prevent accidents caused by large vehicles entering due to blind spots in the narrow alleyways and to avoid creating a 'pedestrian hell' situation. Despite speculations from the public, the height restriction was not intended to prevent sand trucks from damaging the road surface due to budget constraints. This measure aims to increase road safety given the high number of elderly residents in the area.
