However, historically, Guan Yu had an official wife, Hu Yue, and a temple in Meinong, Kaohsiung, worships the entire family, with the statue of Hu Yue being embraced by worshippers for positive energy. The temple emphasizes not mixing different deities frivolously and promotes good intentions among followers, despite other temples being criticized for using deities like Guan Gong and Mazu for marriage arrangements.
