Convenience Store Giants Thrive in June, Expected to Continue Growth

Reported about 1 year ago

Both Taiwan's convenience store giants - 7-ELEVEN and FamilyMart - experienced record-high combined revenues in May, with 7-ELEVEN achieving NT$28.19 billion and FamilyMart reaching NT$8.836 billion. The increase is attributed to expansion in store numbers, high sales of summer beverages and fresh foods, and strong performance from investments in the Philippines' 7-ELEVEN and Starbucks. The upcoming warmer weather in June is expected to further boost performance. Both chains are focusing on innovative retail experiences, expanding member services, and leveraging various promotions to drive revenue growth. FamilyMart's success is credited to the sales surge of chilled beverages, with fresh food and bakery categories also posting strong growth. As the summer season approaches, their strategies include launching new products, engaging in topical marketing, and seizing opportunities during the Dragon Boat Festival and the 618 online shopping event to sustain revenue momentum.
