A convict named Lin, serving a sentence in Taitung, failed to return from leave on Dragon Boat Festival to Tainan where he resides. After being wanted, he voluntarily surrendered, where he was found by family members in a park and convinced by his mother to turn himself in. Lin, convicted for fraud and serving 9 years with over 2 years left, was praised for good behavior. He was allowed to go on leave for the festival but failed to return, prompting the authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest.
