Costco Wholesale is set to raise hourly pay for most of its U.S. store workers to over $30 as part of a new compensation plan, with gradual increases of $1 each year for top earners and a 50-cent rise for entry-level employees. This decision coincides with ongoing contract negotiations amidst potential strike actions from union members representing over 18,000 workers. CEO Ron Vachris emphasized that these wage increases will significantly surpass industry standards.
