During the New Taipei City Council's session on June 18, DPP councilors including Chen Nai-yu jointly questioned Mayor Hou Yu-yi on issues related to expanding the powers of the parliament, fiscal budgeting laws, and various social welfare topics. Councilor Chen accused Mayor Hou of hiding facts, disrespecting the council, and making false statements, suggesting possible penalties or legal consequences. Mayor Hou emphasized supporting parliamentary reform and stated that if the council has the power to penalize, they can propose legislation to govern themselves. The questioning also touched on other political stances and housing development discrepancies within the city administration.
