With the Legislative Yuan scheduled to adjourn on July 16, the final two weeks will see consecutive moves, including public hearings on the personnel selection law next week in an effort to complete the amendment review in the committee. Kuomintang Chairman Eric Chu revealed during a parliamentary reform briefing in Taoyuan that the committee will also discuss the extension of nuclear power plant operation the week after next. The Kuomintang has been hosting parliamentary reform briefings in Taoyuan and Pingtung, with the recent power outage issues domestically becoming a focal point of Chu's discussions. Chu emphasized the need for addressing Taiwan's electricity shortage issues due to potential economic implications.
