During an interview with Yellow Weihan, DPP Secretary-General Lin Rong-Chang criticized the absurdity, lack of wisdom, and foolishness of China's Taiwan Affairs Office's announcement regarding punishing Taiwan independence advocates, including the death penalty, stating that the situation could be most dire for the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Taiwanese People's Party (MPP). Lin emphasized that Taiwan's strength lies in its strong economy and democratic system, with support from the international community and participation in various international organizations like the WHO. He pointed out the potential dilemma faced by the KMT and MPP in dealing with China's new directives, which could impact their relations with Taiwan and their pro-China stance.
