On the first day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Taoyuan Airport and southbound high-speed rail were packed with travelers in Taiwan. Due to the influence of a low-pressure system, areas like Yilan, Hualien, and some mountainous regions are experiencing thunderstorms in the afternoons, so travelers are advised to carry rain gear. The airport expected over 100,000 travelers departing and arriving on June 8, while the high-speed rail faced overcrowding despite offering more trains during the holiday. Additionally, the weather forecast suggests continued rain with thunderstorms over the next 7 to 10 days, affecting various regions in Taiwan.
