Colombian cyclist Miguel Angel Lopez, a former winner of the Tour de Suisse and the Volta a Catalunya, has been given a four-year doping ban by the International Cycling Union (UCI). The ban was imposed due to his violation of rules involving the use and possession of a prohibited substance, specifically the banned hormone Menotropin, before the 2022 Giro d'Italia. Evidence from Spanish authorities was used in the investigation, which led to Lopez's provisional suspension since July 2023 and the ban lasting until July 2027.
