Da-Yeh University Hosts International Students Mandarin Speech Competition

On June 14, 2024, at 4:10 pm, the Mandarin Teaching Center at Da-Yeh University held an 'International Students Mandarin Speech Competition,' attracting students from France, Eswatini, Malawi, Indonesia, Mongolia, and other countries to participate. Students from diverse cultural backgrounds shared their experiences and achievements in learning Mandarin in Taiwan through self-introductions. The center's director, Peng Hanmei, aims to facilitate cultural exchange among students from different countries by creating a diverse language learning environment and promoting international perspectives. Judges Chen Junfu, Cao Xiurong, and Zhang Jiajia praised the students' Mandarin proficiency, with each participant displaying remarkable courage. International student Marjorie from France expressed her love for Taiwan and enjoyment during her study exchange, particularly fond of temples like Fo Guang Shan. Another student, Jérôme from France, appreciated Taiwan's beauty and delicacies but found stinky tofu hard to accept. Qiu Wenxin from the International Specialized Department, hailing from Malawi in Africa, found learning Mandarin fun and easy, planning to pursue biomedical studies after a year of Mandarin study in Taiwan. The event provided a platform for showcasing Mandarin learning achievements by international students.
