Darren Waller, a tight end for the New York Giants, has officially announced his retirement from the NFL after eight seasons. The 32-year-old player informed the team of his decision before the start of mandatory minicamp. Despite a career that saw impressive achievements like a Pro Bowl appearance and being a top contender for the AP Comeback Player of the Year, Waller's time with the Giants was limited due to injuries. The team had prepared by drafting Theo Johnson from Penn State to add depth to the position.
