民眾日報 published on June 27, 2024, at 9:18 PM reported that due to recent cases of primary school students being influenced by relatives and becoming drivers for scammers, the DaTong Police conducted an awareness session at ShuangLian Elementary School. In addition to educating students on scam prevention, they also highlighted the consequences like compensation for victims via legal guardians if caught joining scam groups. Students were engaged in questioning scenarios like receiving suspicious text messages on family members' phones, buying game items for online teammates, or handling unknown callers claiming to be long-lost relatives. By incorporating scam case studies into teaching materials, police quizzed students on idioms related to scammers at ATMs, with answers like 'looking around anxiously,' 'suspicious behavior,' and 'escaping in haste,' to enhance scam prevention awareness through interactive learning.
