Developing Tropical Disturbance 98W: Experts Suggest Low Threat Directly to Taiwan

Reported about 1 year ago

The weather enthusiasts in the Taiwan Typhoon Forum | Emergency Weather stated that a tropical disturbance 98W is currently developing in the region southeast of the Philippines, moving rapidly northwestward. Although there is a slight opportunity for enhancement, the chances are limited due to environmental constraints and the disturbance's fast pace. While the threat to Taiwan is low, remnants of the system may bring some light rain to central and southern Taiwan over the weekend. The Central Weather Bureau warns of continued heat due to the Pacific high pressure influence, with temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees in some areas, especially in the high-Ping inland regions of Taiwan. They also advise caution against heatstroke and emphasize staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged outdoor activities.
