Director Scammed Money/Employed as a Handyman Instead of an Actor, Former Employee Owed 4 Years' Wages Turns Defendant for Defamation

Reported 8 months ago

The first disabled indigenous director in Taiwan, Yang Jing, had previously been accused of using celebrity photos to raise funds by staging the movie 'Love Clues', which never made it to theaters, leading to suspicions of fraud. Recently, Yang was found soliciting donations from stores in Tainan and Taichung. One former employee, known as A, revealed that he was originally recruited to be an actor but ended up working as a handyman, never receiving the promised salary, nor insurance. After constant wage disputes and demands for fundraising, A quit in frustration. Despite exposing Yang's actions online, A was countersued for defamation. The court ultimately ruled in A's favor, ordering Yang to pay back over NT$190,000 in owed wages, which remains unpaid after almost 4 years.
