On June 18, in Taipei, a 75-year-old man and a 29-year-old man engaged in a physical altercation over a priority seat on the MRT, with the elderly man striking the younger man in the head. This is the second incident in a week, leading to calls for the abolition of priority seats, now deemed as 'love-seat of contention.' The Ministry of Health and Welfare has responded by proposing legislative amendments to address the issue.
