In Nantou, Taiwan, a betel nut stall's aggressive dog suddenly attacked and killed a customer's pet parrot, resulting in a settlement of NT$430,000 offered by the stall owner as compensation. The incident occurred when the customer, while out for a ride with the parrot, stopped to buy betel nuts, and the dog outside the stall viciously attacked the parrot. The owner of the parrot, deeply saddened by the loss of their beloved bird, expressed hope for responsible pet ownership to prevent such tragedies, with the stall owner admitting fault and agreeing to the settlement.
