Don't Expect Global South Stock Markets to Catch Up

Last week, Thailand officially applied to join the BRICS group, with Malaysia's Prime Minister expressing interest as well. These new members, along with existing members like Saudi Arabia and Egypt, are forming a coalition against the US dollar dominance, collectively known as the Global South. However, the author is pessimistic about the future performance of the Global South in capital markets due to significant economic disparities and challenges in currency integration among its members.
