DoorDash Settles for $17 Million Over Misuse of Delivery Workers' Tips

Reported about 15 hours ago

DoorDash has agreed to pay nearly $17 million to settle allegations that it improperly used customer tips to subsidize delivery workers' wages in New York, rather than allowing drivers to keep tips in addition to their guaranteed pay. New York Attorney General Letitia James stated that this practice occurred between May 2017 and September 2019, misleading customers about how their tips were utilized. Eligible workers from that period will receive restitution.
