Microsoft has reportedly canceled several data center leases as part of its ongoing $80 billion investment in AI infrastructure. Analysts suggest this decision may stem from an oversupply situation in their data center capacity, despite Microsoft maintaining its commitment to grow its infrastructure to meet high customer demand. The company's recent financial report indicated they have already spent $42 billion of their planned budget for 2025, while also being the largest purchaser of Nvidia's AI chips in 2024.
