Following the rejection of the parliamentary reform review proposal by the blue and white camps on June 21, certain green camp sources quickly claimed that Kuomintang lawmaker Hung Meng-kai had requested confidential data from TSMC during a questioning session. In response, Hung Meng-kai stated that his inquiry was about earthquake damage and the restoration of operations at the science park, but it was maliciously twisted to imply a request for confidential information. He denounced the DPP for opposing parliamentary reform, distorting normal legislative inquiries, and engaging in baseless smears.
