According to a report by SET News on June 23, 2024, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) spokesperson Wu Zheng denounced the Taiwan People's Party for misinterpreting and selectively remembering issues to attack the ruling party. The DPP criticized the Taiwan People's Party for aligning with the Kuomintang and neglecting their promises of reform to cooperate with the KMT in China's efforts to divide Taiwan, accusing them of being accomplices in the KMT's restoration of party-state dominance. The DPP highlighted the Taiwan People's Party's failure to support constitutional amendments and laws that would benefit the people, questioning their slogan of transcending traditional party lines for reform. Wu Zheng emphasized that the accusations made by the Taiwan People's Party in the name of parliamentary reform were baseless and aimed at misleading the public, pointing out that many of the alleged scandals had been proven groundless by judicial investigations. The DPP spokesperson also criticized the Taiwan People's Party for sheltering Huang Kuo-chang, accusing him of changing positions constantly while avoiding addressing his own party's controversies. The DPP called out the Taiwan People's Party for their deceptive practices and misinformation campaigns at public events, labeling them as a deceitful political party. Ultimately, the DPP warned that those politicians who deviated from their values and resorted to unfounded accusations should not be surprised if they are viewed as false gentlemen by the people.
