On June 12, 2024, the DPP held a press conference to announce their plan to conduct nationwide lectures titled 'Fighting against Abuse of Power, Defending Democracy' in response to the controversial legislative amendments proposed by the KMT and NPP. DPP Secretary-General Lin Yu-chang emphasized the need for the public to pay attention to parliamentary affairs and urged constituents to call their district legislators to voice support for legislative review. With a series of lectures planned across Taiwan, the DPP aims to deepen democracy and engage citizens in the legislative process amidst concerns over rushed decision-making in the parliament.
