According to TheStreet, Dr Pepper has now tied with Pepsi as America's second most popular soda brand, surpassing the decades-long two-brand dominance of Coca-Cola and Pepsi. While Coca-Cola remains at the top with a 19.2 percent market share, Dr Pepper and Pepsi both hold an 8.3 percent share. Dr Pepper, founded in 1885, is older than both Coke and Pepsi, marking a significant shift in the $97 billion U.S. soda market.
