On June 25, 2024, Lin, a 25-year-old man, was caught by police officers from the Datong Police Station claiming he had just arrived at the park to exercise, but emitting a strong smell of ketamine. Following reports of a heavy ketamine odor in a nearby park, patrol officers were dispatched to investigate. They found a suspicious man in the park exhibiting nervous behavior and smelling of ketamine. Upon inspection, a small bag containing white powder was discovered in his possession. Lin eventually admitted to preparing to use ketamine in the park and was found with ketamine straws and cigarettes. He was taken to the police station for urine testing, found to have violated drug laws, and the case was transferred for further processing.
