After the US and Canadian navy ships around the Taiwan Strait faced harassment from PLA aircraft, a Dutch navy patrol vessel also encountered such incidents in international waters recently. The Netherlands Defense Ministry emphasized that China's actions could pose potential dangers. The Dutch navy's Tromp vessel was approached by two PLA jets while on a UN monitoring mission for North Korea in the East China Sea, with PLA J-7 fighter jets circling above it. This incident occurred as Tromp was passing through the Taiwan Strait on its way to South Korea, Japan, and later Hawaii for the 'RIMPAC' multinational exercise in late June. This follows the vessel's joint exercises with the US Navy in the South China Sea in late May.
