Economic Ministry and National Development Council Unable to Answer 2026 Solar Energy Proportion

Reported over 1 year ago

During a parliamentary session in Taiwan, legislator Huang Kuo-chang raised concerns about the renewable energy mix, specifically the proportion of solar energy in 2026. Both Deputy Minister Chen Cheng-chi of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Chairman Liu Ching-ching of the National Development Council were unable to provide an answer. After pressured questioning, Liu Ching-ching promised to provide a response within a month. This highlights the lack of clarity and planning in achieving renewable energy targets, with the current renewable energy generation being at 10.7% and aiming for 20% by 2026.
