Egg Truck Spills Thousands of Eggs on Road after Egg Crates Not Properly Secured, Causing a Mess

On June 8, 2024, around 10 a.m. in New Taipei City's Sanchong District, a 37-year-old driver surnamed Chen's egg truck made a sharp turn on Xinbei Avenue Section 1- No.176, causing roughly 6,000 eggs from 30 crates to fall onto the road due to excessive speed, creating a huge mess. It took about 2 hours for a cleaning company with a water truck to clean up the egg spillage, obstructing traffic in one lane. Chen will be fined according to road traffic regulations for the incident. The spilled eggs caused traffic disruptions until the road was cleared at around noon.
