Reported about 1 year ago
In Wanhua District, Taipei, a 78-year-old surnamed Yan had rented out a room to a 68-year-old surnamed Chen. Chen owed Yan around 20,000 NTD in rent, which led to frequent demands for payment from Yan. The conflict escalated on the morning of June 9 when Chen, dissatisfied with the continuous pressure, attacked Yan with a kitchen knife, resulting in Yan's death from multiple stab wounds. Chen fled to Hsinchu but later surrendered to the police in Taipei, confessing to the crime and undergoing further legal proceedings.
