An 80-year-old man sparked controversy on a train at Taoyuan Station when he demanded to switch seats with a woman sitting in a priority seat, insulting her when she refused. The man was initially sentenced to 10 days in detention for public insult, but the fine was later reduced to 6000 NTD upon appeal. The man insisted on his desire for a specific seat, verbally attacked the woman, and ended up being fined for his behavior.
