In Taipei, the police arrested a 70-year-old man for theft after he used a power drill and crowbar to break into a vending machine at a doll machine store in the underground street of Taipei Main Station, stealing thousands of dollars. The police identified the suspect through surveillance footage that showed him targeting the unattended store and committing the theft on two separate occasions. The man, who worked odd jobs to make a living, conducted the thefts while disguised to make it harder for the authorities to track him down. He was eventually caught and arrested by the police, urged businesses to enhance security measures, and advised victims of similar crimes to contact the authorities for identification and assistance.
