A recent espionage case involving fraud fugitive and yo-yo coach Lu Ji-xian suggests his involvement in gathering military secrets through contacts with retired military personnel in Taiwan. The investigation has now revealed the participation of a China Airlines dispatched employee, George Tsang-hao, who admitted to leaking information such as President Tsai Ing-wen's flight schedules and details about Taiwan's military purchase of new F-16V fighter jets to China. The case began with abnormal activities among soldiers at an army base triggering suspicions of espionage, leading to a broader investigation that uncovered leaked military information in multiple branches of Taiwan's armed forces. Lu Ji-xian was reportedly recruited by Chinese intelligence and has since been prosecuted for violating national security laws.
