EU Accuses Apple of Violating Digital Market Laws, Facing Heavy Penalty

Reported 8 months ago

The European Commission preliminarily found that Apple's AppStore terms violate digital market laws by hindering other app developers from freely directing consumers to alternative payment methods. This marks the first time the EU Commission has accused a company of wrongdoing under digital market laws. If Apple does not improve, they could face penalties of up to 10% of their global annual revenue, amounting to potentially billions of dollars.
